Gestalt is a German word referring to the wholeness of each human. It states that we are made of many parts of self that all take turns to support us in our lives, depending on the context.
Equine Gestalt coaching is a coactive coaching method, which assumes that the client has all the answers to the questions they have about their life and circumstances, but those answers are outside the client's awareness. That's where my horse and I come in!
I love the creativity in this method. All sessions are entirely unique, and each Gestalt activity is an experiment, informed by each client's experience at the present moment.
Equine Gestalt coaching is transformative. You will not leave as the same person you came in.
Chakras are energy centers in your body. We have many (and horses have more!) but the horses generally work with seven. Each chakra symbolizes a different concept.
Whether you believe in chakras or not is entirely up to you! It's not for everyone to believe in something you can't see or feel.
What I can tell you is that it's fascinating to watch a horse balance someone's chakras. Clearly, something is happening, and after, you may feel different.
I like to think the work they do with your chakras opens the door for you to feel new, more positive (high-vibrational) things.
The horse's work is the energetic icing on a highly transformative cake. You'll probably never experience anything like it anywhere besides an equine gestalt coaching session, and every single experience is different!
There are several differences and similarities between equine Gestalt coaching and therapy! Most notable is the efficacy.
Talk therapy engages your explicit memories (the "story" of what happened; your brain's memories) and encourages you to think and talk about the subject of the session.
Gestalt coaching accesses your implicit memories (the "feelings" of what happened; your body's memories) to release the trauma that still exists in your body in an altered and exaggerated state.
If you have a "spicy" memory, that is, a memory that makes you feel something in your body, gestalt coaching may be just what you need.

No, you don't! All you have to do is show up wearing your play clothes and close-toed shoes and expect to get a little dusty. Your safety is always top priority and you'll be guided through interactions with the horse as needed.
If you're afraid of horses, that's okay, too! We will go at your pace, and you'll never be pushed to do something unsafe.
